Booker T. Wright was born on May 3, 1932 in Sparkman, Arkansas to the late lee D. Wright, Sr. and Willie Mae Walker Wright. He was the fifth of seven children. Booker T. grew up in Sparkman, Arkansas but relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1948. He attended John Hay High School then went on to work for the City of Cleveland in the water department as the Head Lab Technician until he retired. Booker T. attended Williams Temple for several years. He faithfully visited the sick and shut in at various hospitals and nursing homes throughout Cleveland. He also volunteered at the neighborhood Soup Kitchen for many years. Booker T. was devoted to helping others including his older brother. He was also well known for being there for those in need. He loved people and always kept in touch with family and friends. Booker was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Climmice and Edward and his sister, Rose. He leaves to mourn his passing, his brothers: Lee David and David Lee; one sister: Billie Faye; one daughter: Gwendolyn Wright; his son: Booker Lamar Wright, godsons; Ted Margerum, Tyco Margerum, Steve Dean, and Marty Grenderson; a former spouse, Patricia Wright; a longtime friend, Johnnie Mae Dean; grandsons: Patrick Wright, Christian Wright and Tyler Wright; granddaughters: Sandy Conner and Ashley Combs, two great granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
