Avery Family, I am so sorry for your loss. James was a very kind person. We worked together many years ago. May God continue to bless you and comfort you in the days ahead.

To The Avery Family; The Bethel Union High School National Alumni Association honors the life and legacy of our fallen brother James L. Avery Class of 1966. His transition touched us but we understand God plans and if we all lived right-Heaven belongs to us and we will meet again. Bethel Union High located in Bethel, NC during Segregation had amazing faculty, staff and students who cared about our futures and our families played major roles as James Mother was a School Librarian and twin sisters Arnette and Annette are retired Social Workers who are still contributing to mankind. Wish we all could be there with you in person but you are in our hearts as we grieve also. Joy will come. Peace & Love. Mildred Atkinson Council, 67′ President BUHS Alumni
