James Abner was born June 29, 1964 to Shirley Abner and James Abner Sr. (deceased), and was like a son to stepfather, Leveal Winnick (deceased).
James was united to Marquetta Edmonds and from this union a child was born, Mario Edmonds. James had two grandchildren Diamond and Damar.
James “Junebug” Abner was a graduate of Shaw High School of East Cleveland. He was a great drum player and a black belt in Karate. James loved music especially, Cameo’s “Just like Candy” and Bone Thugs and Harmony. James loved to slap box with you at any given moment, all while smiling and laughing. June had a great sense of humor and loved to run and would challenge you to a race once he got you hyped up knowing he could outrun you. His favorite line was give me some “pop”, he loved junk food and sweets. June took ill and with his smile you would never have known it, because he would smile no matter what.
James departed this life on January 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Standberry (Pam), and two step siblings, Veradean Winnick, and Willie Alberta.
Leaving to mourn his passing, his loving mother: Shirley Abner, his sisters: Christine Abner (Dump), Lelisa Abner, Octavia Abner- Williams and Samantha Abner, one brother-in-law, Raymond Williams. Step siblings: Howard Winnick, Horace Winnick (Poochie), Dorothy Delores and Priscilla Winnick a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
