Russell Earl Parker was born, March 1, 1944, in Homewood, Alabama, to the late Judge Felton Parker, Sr. and Beulah Mae Kendrick Parker. He came to Cleveland, Ohio, on August 1, 1952.
He attended East High School and worked for Alcoa as a Laborer. Russell was known as the funeral singer. He would always sing his rendition of the Lord’s prayer. He enjoyed music by the Whispers and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.
When Russell relocated, he married Loretta Williams. From that union two sons were born, Darryl and Darnell.
After 30 years together, on June 4, 2013, he married the love of his life, Lisa Flanagan and from this union one child was born, Latrice.
After a long battle with a horrible disease he passed away peacefully on July 1, 2016. He was surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa, one sister, Gwen Parker and one brother James Parker.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons; Darryl Parker and Darnell Parker, one daughter: Latrice Evans (Myron), brothers: Judge Parker Jr., and Eugene Parker, sisters: Patricia Sledge, Saundria Carter, sisters-in-law, Marian Flanagan, Sandra Flanagan (Ron), Brenda Allen (Curtis), Tanisi Flanagan and brother-in-law, Willie Flanagan, granddaughters: Klarissa Parker, Kyneisha Parker, grandson; DeWayne Parker, a great-granddaughter, Kristian Benefield and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
