Shirley Mae Glover, affectionately known as “Cookie”, was the 3rd of seven children born to Horace Sr. and Christine Glover on September 29, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Georgia.

On June 25, 1955, her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Cookie was raised in “The Village” and received formal education through the Garfield Heights School System, graduating in 1972. She also attended Cuyahoga Community College.

For 13 years she was employed with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) as a bus operator. She was also a favored hostess at RD’s Lounge and the Gold Spot for many years. Cookie worked in the transportation department at the Cleveland Clinic, with her last place of employment being the Hilton Hotel, where she worked in hospitality.

On October 2, 1982, Cookie married Robert Bradley. At an early age, Cookie professed her faith in Christ and was baptized by the late Pastor Luther Benn of the St. John Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of Leviticus Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Horace Glover, Jr. Cookie served as an usher as well as on the culinary committee until her health began to fail.

Cookie was the proud mother of Sherjewel Antoinette, Brandi Alecia, and Carl Aaron, whom she loved dearly. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit and strong personality. She could be kind and funny, mean and surly, adventurous and isolated, all at the same time. She was fiercely protective of her family to outsiders, aloof and always correct with her family. She could also get in your face, if necessary, with her own ‘special’ brand of communication.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Cookie was called home to be with the Lord. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her father, Horace Glover, Sr. and brother-in law, Fred M. Edwards preceded her in death. Cookie loved life, good food, and celebrations. Therefore her loving mother, Christine; children, Sherjewel Clark (Everett), Brandi, and Carl Outlaw (Danielle); siblings: Pastor Horace Glover, Jr. (Regina), Ethel Price (John), Roxie Johnson (Booker), Marilyn Garner (Carey), Francina Edwards (Minister Willie Edwards), and Christie; grandchildren: Tyrone, Lynndale, Everett Jr., DaVaughn, Ramone, Kaitlyn, and Carlos, great-grandchildren: Kai and Sunny; uncles: Boisy Glover, Sr., Northern Sinclair of New Jersey, Washington Sinclair (Eunice), Geo. Benjamin Sinclair (Melissa), Gabe Sinclair (Bernice), aunt: Eddie Mae Hubbard, all of Georgia; and her #CookieAuntie Fan Club of nieces and nephews will CELEBRATE HER LIFE with a host of other relatives and friends.
